Are there any neighborhood rules that I must follow?
Yes. The
Declaration of Covenants
are established to provide direction to the homeowners for common courtesies
with regard to parking, vehicles, pets, trash bins, etc. Residents are
encouraged to read the
Things To Know
document for information pertaining to courtesy and safety.
In addition, your Association has Architectural Guidelines with
procedures for submitting requests to make exterior changes to your.
These guidelines are set up to maintain the aesthetic value and
integrity of the community on behalf of all owners, and hopefully protect
the market value of your home as well. Violations of these rules may result
in action by the Board of Directors, which could include fines, and
even placing a lien against your property.
What is the purpose of Hawthorne Management?
Hawthorne Management company is contracted by KeyStone Builders to provide
financial, maintenance, and enforcement
services
such as: Collection of assessments, supervision of subcontractors, obtaining
bids for subcontracted services, providing financial statements and
collection reports, as well as a general clearing house for problem solving,
communications with homeowners and the Board of Directors and to serve in an
advisor capacity.
What is the purpose of the
Steele Creek Home Owner Association?
Membership in the Home Owner Association is
automatic and mandatory. The
Association’s goal is to protect, preserve, and enhance our community by
maintaining all common areas and
governing the community in accordance with the Declaration of Covenants and
Bylaws.
The HOA is governed by a Board of Directors, elected by the homeowners. The
Board of Directors works closely Hawthorne Management to manage services and
handle the day-to-day affairs of the Association.
Why do I have to pay HOA dues?
Association dues cover the costs of
providing services to the community such as improvements, repairs,
landscaping and maintenance of common areas, financial management of
Association funds and administrative record keeping.
Dues can be paid online at
Hawthorne Management’s website.
What will happen if I do not pay my HOA dues?
Maintenance and management services incurred
by the association are dependant upon the timely payment of HOA dues.
Late payments will result in a late payment fee.
In addition, if dues are not paid, the Association has the legal
right to proceed with placing a lien on your property.
Meetings
Community and Board meetings are held
periodically. Residents are
notified in advance of meetings via mail by Hawthorne Management.
Residents are welcomed to attend Board meetings and encouraged to
attend community meetings.
How can I join a committee?
Resident involvement is a must if we are to
protect and preserve our neighborhood.
Committees are always open and can benefit from home owner
participation whether on a casual or ongoing basis.

How do I make a complaint if a neighbor is
violating the declarations?
If disputes
cannot be resolved through neighborly means, your may report problems to the
association by clicking

How do I request approval to add a fence,
deck, or other improvements to my property?

How do I dispose of large items such as
furniture and appliances?
Please call
311 to schedule a
Bulky Item Pickup.
How do I handle solicitors at my door?
No solicitation signs have been posted at the neighbor entrance. If
solicited, be polite and explain door to door soliciting is not welcomed in
Steele Creek. If a solicitor becomes a nuisance, please call 911.
Call before you dig
Call the North Carolina One Call Center at 1-800-632-4949 before you dig
holes for fence posts, plants, or other purposes. This free service will
locate all
underground utilities
(electricity, gas, telephone, cable, etc.) in the areas you request.
